Letter From Our HOA President Dorothy Goldman

Hello Friends and Neighbors,

Our last meeting was held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at The Branch at Mission Hills.  We had a very good turnout for this meeting.

JUST A BRIEF RECAP OF THE MEETING:

Kristi Todd gave us a brief summary of the upcoming events for the fourth quarter. As always, we will start with the tying of bows on our veteran’s mailboxes. This will be followed by our Halloween and Christmas yard decoration contests. To round out the year, we will have “Santa at the Pool” on December 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  More information will be posted about these events on Facebook as the dates get closer.

We recently have had new motion lights and security cameras installed at the pool.  The cost of the equipment and installation was $2,200. We felt this was long past needed in an effort to keep our pool & investment secure.

The pool rules, guest policy, party form & eligibility clause have been either updated or added as a new policy.  You can find these documents on our website under the “new” heading “Pool”.

The major topic of our meeting was concerning the Group Home located at 857 Barkley Circle. The owners of this property were granted the request by the Board of Zoning Adjustments on July 8th to rezone the property from R3 to B3 classification.  At this time, this issue has not been resolved. The HOA Board is in the process of researching to see if there is anything we can do to have this zoning reversed.

The last issue discussed for the evening, was parking on the street.  This has been an ongoing complaint of many of our residents. If you have a guest that will be at your home for a short period of time, parking on the street is not a problem. The problem is when a resident feels the side of the road is part of their driveway. I don’t think anyone realizes that when an emergency vehicle comes into the community, having parked cars on the side of the road hinders them from coming in, out or making a turn.  One of our directional street signs was knocked down from an emergency vehicle trying to miss cars while making a turn.  It took me several months working with the city to have this sign restored.  PLEASE PARK IN YOUR DRIVEWAYS.

You are truly appreciated for taking the time to attend our quarterly community meetings and finding out what’s happening in your community and how your money is being spent. A lot of hard work goes into keeping our community one that families would love to live in.

Hope to see you in November,

Dorothy Goldman, President
